CRAFTERS COMPANION & CREATE & CRAFT TV

It has been a MEGA exciting week for me .... As you may know I was invited to join the Crafters Companion Design Team a few weeks ago and have been making samples like there is no tomorrow.  Leann Chivers has been on Create & Craft tv since Monday showcasing the new range of Christmas Dies and embossing folders designed by Leann for Crafters Companion ...

They are GORGEOUS and wonderful to work with ....   it has been very surreal seeing my some of my work on TV .... here are the things that I made that have been on TV ...

'As seen on Tv'    LOL .... i have been dying to say that lol ...
Here I used the Die'sire 'Fir Trees' die .... there is SO much you can do with these dies and they are wonderful to work with .  The stamp set is called 'Happy Holidays'  and is by Crafters Companion  and boy are they gorgeous ... they stamp perfectly every time ... they come unmounted in red rubber and are just so fab .... I love them.

This card was made using the 'Holly' Die'sire colection from Crafters companion and is again fantastic to work with ... I cut out the holly in 3 different shades of green and added stickles to each leaf just to add some sparkle I also used deep red flatback pearls for the berries ... but the die does come with 2 sets of dies especially for the berries in different sizes .

I had loads of fun with this project and it started its life as a cardboard box which my dishwasher tablets come in .... it is so thick and sturdy and great for projects like this ...  I wanted this to have a vintage feel to it ... I again used the 'Holly' die from the Die'sire range (the link is above in the info of the last card) and I also used the "Classical Frames" and as you can see they are gorgeous  ... i added some chain, added pearls and some red jingle bells to the top and it sounds JUST like christmas ... I love it ... oh I also added some lace to the outside edge with I gathered.

Last but not least I made this

For this I made the 'half box' using chipboard and printed a 'free' image from the internet of a winter scene .... I then cut out 3 of the larger 'Fir Trees' (link above with the first image) and scored them in half and glued them together to make the 3D tree ... I then used the 'Wrought Iron' Die'sire die for the fence which I glued together to get the length I wanted and added some 'Snow writer' to it ... I also used  the 'Lamp post and Sign' die from the Die'sire range and cut out the lampost 3 times, again scoring them down the centre and gluing them together to get a 3D lamp post.

I have made some other stuff but I can't show them yet until they have been shown by Crafters Companion first ....

I am sooooooo bad .... I completely forgot to show my design team make for Eclectic Ellapu this week !!!!!

The theme was 'Make something for a teacher'    This was great for me as my partner is a teacher ..... and no she is NOT girly at all .... plus there are MANY male teachers out there and other female teachers who are not into girly colours or flowers .... So I made my project with my wonderful partner in mind ....

It is made from 1 of the stackable boxes you can get in most craft stores and I glued the box and the lid (turned upside down) to a piece of chipboard .... decorated it using Kanban 'Industriana' paper range (which I LOVE )   .... next thing to do was cover an empty soup can for pencil and pen storage (using the same paper range throughout )

I then covered a small notebook and rolled some paper (matching the note book cover) around the pen refil and inserted it back into the pen tube ...  I also made a little cover for some post it notes and decorated it with an owl .... (all teachers are wise just like an owl ..... or so I was lead to believe when I was at school)    I used my Stampin' Up punch 'Owl Builder' and decorated the outside of the post it note pad.   I then repunched out the owl using scraps of designer papers and glued this owl onto an over sized paper clip to be used as a book marker ...

I am really pleased with how it has come out and my partner is really happy with it and will have it on her desk when school starts again in September.
