HELLO EVERYONE ...

Time for another post .... here are a few samples that I have recently made for Crafters Companion  i have had loads of fun making this batch of samples ...

This was made using one of the new 'Create a Card' die from Die'sire ... they are really great to work with and makes putting a card together really quick ..  this one is called DECADENCE

Here is the same die but I have made it into a photo frame .... it is such a versatile die

This photo is of my gorgeous granddaughter and my sons friends little boy .. i love this picture

This 'Create a Card' die is called ROMANCE and once again is beautiful and so easy to use and make beautiful card .... with this card I found the centre of the heart and put on two different colours of card  to get this effect ...

When I did this card i decided not to cut it out but use the whole thing as a stencil ... I had some A4 double sided sticky paper and placed the die onto it then covered it in glitter ... sadly the photo does not show how beautiful the colour of glitter really is .. its almost a teal colour ... I then removed the die and added black glitter to the remaining space ... I LOVE how it really shows how beautiful the whole die is ... the paper flowers are made using the Die'sire quilling dies and are actually the same colour as the teal glitter but obviously it doesn't show that in this photo ...

Many thanks for stopping by i would love you to leave me a comment

FERNLI DESIGNS

I have had a LOVELY few days making this next project ... I ADORE working with Fernli Designs products they are just amazing ... I recently did the little desk top letter rack and while working on it I had another idea pop into my head so had to make it and here it is
I am thrilled with how it turned out  ... I used papers by Prima called 'Engraver'  and some Tim Holtz paper I had ...

I was recently lucky enough to have my name pulled out in a recent  draw from Fernli Designs  and I obviously asked for the letter rack but Lou very kindly sent me lots of other goodies and among them were these swirls which I have used as legs for the letter rack and the numbers which all I did was stamp onto them with versafine black ink  ...
I also got this lovely scroll in my package which I glued to the top of the letter rack and intend to put mine and my partners name on it in Gold.

Thank you for stopping by I hope you leave me a comment on your thoughts xxx Many thanks

Sneak Peak number 2

Later than promised but here is another card using the brand new dies from Crafters Companion and Die'sire

This was made using the 'Create a Card' die ROMANCE  ... I simply put 2 different papers together after finding the centre of the die and put it all through my embossing machine  then before removing the die I used my 'Stampin up' inks and a sponge over the top to highlight the exposed the parts ..

I also used the Embossalicious folder 'Gothic Script'  and the 'Cameo Stamping Frame' and stamps from the new set of Sentimentals  range 'NATURE'   Love a lllllllll the new ranges from
Crafters Companion  and at the moment there is FREE postage till Sunday 23rd March (midnight)  UK only ..

Thank you for taking the time to visit me

Sneak Peak

SNEAK PEAK

Crafters Companion have some new dies coming out in the next few days and here is a sneak peak of one of them ..

These new dies are called  'Create a Card' dies from the Die'sire range and are just GORGEOUS to work with ,... with this die I used it as a stencil and started off by using double sided A4 sticky paper ... I peeled 1 side off and stuck down the metal die and then sprinkled the glitter..... I pressed it in hard to make sure it adhered to the sticky paper.   Then simply removed the die and sprinkled on the black glitter in the places that were left ....

The flowers are from the Die'sire Quilling range and I used .... Stamen, Lacy Flower, Rose (small and Large) and the Leaf 1 die ...

The release date is this coming Sunday (23rd March 2014) where you will find Leann Chivers on Create and Craft tv  demonstrating the dies and showing more samples of these gorgeous dies ....

Many thanks for stopping by ..... I will be showing another card later on today so would love it if you could stop by again

Fernli Designs

Hi everyone ...  If you haven't heard of this company yet or bought something from them ,..... then why not??? MY OH MY OH MY .... If you love wood embellishments and wooden things to alter then GO NOW to FERNLI DESIGNS and have a good time looking and spending ... they are a new company, and already have loads of fab designs .... AND they are constantly working on new ones all the time ..... AND if there is something that you really want and it isn't on the sight send them a message and they will do their best to work with you on your design ...

Here is their latest design small letter rack with draw
and it is only £2.99 .... I was sent this by Lou (owner and designer along side her husband ) of Fernli Designs, it comes flat packed  and at first I found it a little fiddley..... THEN I realised I had the pieces back to front  and once I turned them around to was soooo easy to put together  ....

I wanted it to be a very usable piece but also a statement piece and thought if i covered it with paper it wouldn't be as hard wearing as I needed it to be so decided a paint effect would be best .

I started by painting a coat of white Gesso, then painted this copper metallic paint I had (from Tesco in the kids toy section .... its cheap and a little thin so you need a few coats of it but it gives a great effect AND they have loads of other colours too ...ALWAYS a plus in my world ...)

Once this was dry I then painted on 1 coat of PVA glue and straight away painted on the black gesso,  it then starts to react with the glue and causes this great crackle effect .

I added the feet (which were door knobs ) and did the same paint effect on these as the rest of the unit.  I left it over night to make sure it had thoroughly dried and then coated with Satin Mod Podge (love that stuff... it also stops the painted draw from sticking when you have painted both the draw and the place where the draw goes ...)

Then all that was left was to fill it up with loads of my most used things.

I LOVE this little unit and really can not wait to see what other AMAZING designs Fernli Designs comes out with next.

Many thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by their website .... they are also on Facebook and have give aways all the time who people who have liked the page ... amazing stuff to be won

Altered Draw Set

Hello everyone

I like many of us crafters love to go to car boot sales ... there is nothing more fun than finding things to alter .... During the summer my partner and I went to a car boot sale and the very first stall I came to had this gorgeous little draw set .

... I was expecting to pay about £3 for it and got a HUGE shock when the guy said 50p .... 50p how could I turn that down !!!!  My partner kept saying but its UGLY ... and I could see just what I wanted it to be like when finished ...

I started by rubbing all the blue paint off and underneath was this gorgeous pale green ... I have planned to do a white wash on it but couldn't believe my luck when it had this green stain on it
I added the small antique plates to the larger draws to tie it in to match the feet
I wanted it to look old and worn so in parts rubbed with the sandpaper until I got down to the wood, I also decided to leave bits of the blue paint on to again hopefully make it look old ...

I had some of the Tim Holtz feet which I wanted to use but because of the shape at the bottom of the draws it was impossible to use them ... thats when I decided to turn them upside down and use the base as a tray on top .... I still had to pad out the 'new' bottom of the draws with thick chipboard which I covered in some Tim Holtz paper I had which the colour matched perfectly.

I tried to take the handles off but it was impossible so I had to leave them.  I then lined the 'new' top with some more of the Tim Holtz paper and simply inked around the edges to soften the look and to also age it.

I am so so thrilled at how it turned out and I LOVE using it, the tray on top is soooo handy.

I would love to know what you all think
