New Challenge

A new challenge has gone live today love at www.lejdesignschallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk
and its all about BUTTONS ..... I LOVE buttons the ones that go on clothes as well as the chocolate ones ...

Before I post my photo I just want to say that a friend of mine recommended a website to me called "Artist Trading Post" so on Sunday I had a good look around the site and placed an order with them ... as I was talking to my friend and telling her what I had ordered I realised I had forgotten something ... I had already received an email from them confirming my order so I sent a reply asking for someone to phone me so I could add the forgotten item.   I have to admit I didn't think I would hear anything but low and behold a really nice man phoned me on Monday morning... and then to top it all off my order arrived this morning .... I was so thrilled and the customer service is FANTASTIC .... I highly recommend www.artisttradingpost.com

SO .... Here is the card I have made for the design team this week ....
The image is from LEJ Designs and is the Daisy digi stamp ... I just re-sized it so I could have the flowers coming down in size.  Then I picked out some buttons for the centers of the flowers .... I would have loved to put some bright orange buttons in the centers but sadly I could not find any in my stash ..

and join in the challenge ....

Many thanks for stopping by I would love to read any comments you are kind enough to leave for me

Crafty Emblies New Challenge

Well it is now my 2nd DT entry for Crafty Emblies www.crafty-emblies.org and this months theme was WINGS .... I decided as it was near valentines day I had to do something with a heart and i just HAD to do it pink : -)  sorry all you pink haters ....

I used a box from my stash and painted it white first then gave it a 2nd coat of metallic pink paint (from Tesco in the kids art section ... they have loads of 'colour's and its REALLY nice and cheap )

I covered the lid with some lace from my stash and edged it with 2 different types of lace and some Washi tape, then I moved on to the heart which was painted pink then I stamped some script on to it then, dry brushed white over the top.  I gave the wings (from Crafty-emblies ) a light brushing of white paint and then glued it all onto the lid.
I wanted the box to look like it had to be opened with a key so used the key hole (Crafty-emblies) at the front and used 2 of the tiny 'screw' brads (Tim Holtz) in the holes on the lock .  then to finish it off I made a small dangly charm to hold the key (from Crafty-Emblies ) which is hanging from a chain ...
The base of the box was done in the same way as the heart ..

Crafty-Emblies ...www.crafty-emblies.org are now also doing a Paper craft challenge too ... so why not enter both challenges OR which ever one takes your fancy and enter .... check out the website and blog for more details ...

Thank you so much for stopping by

VALENTINES' DAY

Hi everyone this is a re-post from Valentine's Day as somehow I lost my original post  :(

Here is a wooden heart I made for the love of my life.....

I started with a wooden heart (oooo sounds a bit like an Elvis song there....) and I used my Crop-o-dile to punch a hole in the top.  I then used the Tim Holtz alcohol inks to stain the wood, and wiped it over with a baby wipe to soften the colour a little.

I added some Washi tape to the bottom left and some rolled paper roses made from the Financial Times.... (I LOVE the colour of that news paper, I am not some financial whizz kid ... sadly... I just really love the colour...) and added some pearls to the centers (they are a pale green )

I stamped an image from the Chronological stamp range and tore out the bit I wanted and inked it using TH Distress ink Brushed Corduroy.... after adding the ribbon I was still thinking it needed something but didn't know what so I sent a photo to my friend ( Thank you so much Sandra Crossfield ) who suggested I tried some gilding ......  I then stamped the word LOVE over the heart using indigo blu gilding flakes and flitter glu and I think it really works .... hope you all like it

Thank you for stopping by it means a lot to me
